Painted from my own photo reference, this watercolor depicts an artic fox snoozing on high ground. The snow has melted and spring is near however the fox still maintains his winter coat. Matted in a soft white black core mat with "v" groove in a slim dark frame.
Born in Missouri and living throughout the US, Mary McCullah has worked closely with zoos and nature preserves giving conservation related programs and doing hands-on work with animals including gray wolves and birds of prey. These experiences have provided valuable inspiration for her art work. The award winning artist paints primarily in acrylic and watercolor concentrating mostly on nature and wildlife as subject matter. Mary is attracted by the fluid movement of watercolor and the versatility of acrylic. She works from her own reference photographs, often combining several photos.
