Artist's Description
This watercolor is painted on archival Aquafuze board--great surface. We see the first iris at the top and a second iris coming straight at the viewer. When I photographed this wonderful flower I purposefully wanted this angle. I found it intriquing. The image size is 18 x 14 inches and framed 23 . 18 approx. The frame is white distressed wood.
About Mary McCullah
Born in Missouri and living throughout the US, Mary McCullah has worked closely with zoos and nature preserves giving conservation related programs and doing hands-on work with animals including gray wolves and birds of prey. These experiences have provided valuable inspiration for her art work. The award winning artist paints primarily in acrylic and watercolor concentrating mostly on nature and wildlife as subject matter. Mary is attracted by the fluid movement of watercolor and the versatility of acrylic. She works from her own reference photographs, often combining several photos.
