This portrait of an osprey is from the series inspired by my experiences at South Carolina Cheraw State Park as artist in residence. At the time of my visit there was an active osprey nest in the park. The painting has a deckled edge on all sides and is floated on dark mat board with white outside mat and dark frame. The framed sized measures 17 x 18 1/2 inches. The image size is listed below.

Born in Missouri and living throughout the US, Mary McCullah has worked closely with zoos and nature preserves giving conservation related programs and doing hands-on work with animals including gray wolves and birds of prey. These experiences have provided valuable inspiration for her art work. The award winning artist paints primarily in acrylic and watercolor concentrating mostly on nature and wildlife as subject matter. Mary is attracted by the fluid movement of watercolor and the versatility of acrylic. She works from her own reference photographs, often combining several photos.
