I took this photo while visiting in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. On hot SC summer days this looks so inviting. I painted it a bit looser than my usual work which was fun. The original is matted and framed with a total size of 25 x 17.5 inches. Enjoy!
Born in Missouri and living throughout the US, Mary McCullah has worked closely with zoos and nature preserves giving conservation related programs and doing hands-on work with animals including gray wolves and birds of prey. These experiences have provided valuable inspiration for her art work. The award winning artist paints primarily in acrylic and watercolor concentrating mostly on nature and wildlife as subject matter. Mary is attracted by the fluid movement of watercolor and the versatility of acrylic. She works from her own reference photographs, often combining several photos.
