Painted from the artist on reference photograph, this elephant represents a question to the viewer--will the sun set on me? One of nature's creatures that is at jeopardy due to the actions of man. The image is painted on a gallery wrap canvas with gold leaf and some palette knife texture in the background. The canvas is 11 x 14 and framed in a rustic brown floater frame.

Born in Missouri and living throughout the US, Mary McCullah has worked closely with zoos and nature preserves giving conservation related programs and doing hands-on work with animals including gray wolves and birds of prey. These experiences have provided valuable inspiration for her art work. The award winning artist paints primarily in acrylic and watercolor concentrating mostly on nature and wildlife as subject matter. Mary is attracted by the fluid movement of watercolor and the versatility of acrylic. She works from her own reference photographs, often combining several photos.
