This "painted pony" stands in front of the Thoroughbred Museum at Hopeland Gardens in Aiken. The artist made it look like a real stone statue. In the spring it is surrounded by azaleas and wonderful greenery. The original is for sale and the price includes white matting and dark frame.

About Mary McCullah
Born in Missouri and living throughout the US, Mary McCullah has worked closely with zoos and nature preserves giving conservation related programs and doing hands-on work with animals including gray wolves and birds of prey. These experiences have provided valuable inspiration for her art work. The award winning artist paints primarily in acrylic and watercolor concentrating mostly on nature and wildlife as subject matter. Mary is attracted by the fluid movement of watercolor and the versatility of acrylic. She works from her own reference photographs, often combining several photos.
