It's always fun to return a captive animal to it's natural environment. Although I photographed this beautiful eagle in captivity, he is now back where he belongs. The bald eagle is such a success story in conservation at a time when so many species are in jeopardy. This work is painted in acrylic on canvas and framed in a black slim floater frame with gold edge. The canvas image is 16 x 20 and framed size 17 x 22 inches.
Born in Missouri and living throughout the US, Mary McCullah has worked closely with zoos and nature preserves giving conservation related programs and doing hands-on work with animals including gray wolves and birds of prey. These experiences have provided valuable inspiration for her art work. The award winning artist paints primarily in acrylic and watercolor concentrating mostly on nature and wildlife as subject matter. Mary is attracted by the fluid movement of watercolor and the versatility of acrylic. She works from her own reference photographs, often combining several photos.
