While staying at Cheraw State Park in SC as artist in residence, I enjoyed walking this trail on a daily basis. I loved painting the pattern of the sunlight and shadows. This painting is professionally matted in white and with a dark frame. Framed size is 14 3/4 w x 22 h.
Born in Missouri and living throughout the US, Mary McCullah has worked closely with zoos and nature preserves giving conservation related programs and doing hands-on work with animals including gray wolves and birds of prey. These experiences have provided valuable inspiration for her art work. The award winning artist paints primarily in acrylic and watercolor concentrating mostly on nature and wildlife as subject matter. Mary is attracted by the fluid movement of watercolor and the versatility of acrylic. She works from her own reference photographs, often combining several photos.
