While visiting Balboa Park in CA I couldn't help but snap a "bunch" of photos of this gorgeous water lily with the filtered light hitting it just right. "In the Spotlight" is a watercolor painted on paper. Image size is10 x 8. It is framed without matting in a lovely earth tone frame with antiqued gold inside liner. The frame is great because you can hang this painting or it will sit well on a shelf of table!! Framed size is 12.5 w x 10.5 h x1.5 deep.
Born in Missouri and living throughout the US, Mary McCullah has worked closely with zoos and nature preserves giving conservation related programs and doing hands-on work with animals including gray wolves and birds of prey. These experiences have provided valuable inspiration for her art work. The award winning artist paints primarily in acrylic and watercolor concentrating mostly on nature and wildlife as subject matter. Mary is attracted by the fluid movement of watercolor and the versatility of acrylic. She works from her own reference photographs, often combining several photos.
