Artist's Description

Our summer has been filled with hummingbirds. Great opportunity to photograph them! This gentleman loved to sit on the feeder pole and chase off others--part of their territorial nature. This free form background, painted in watercolor on paper, helps depict the iridescent nature of the male throat patch. Sometimes it is a reddish color and in other light -- yellow orange. Wonderful! The original is framed with white mat and light maple frame. Finished framed size is 22 x 17 inches.
